Daiwa Grand Wave-Z Casting Reels Review
The Facts: The Daiwa Grand Wave-Z conventional reel has a Super Speed Shaft that totally separates the gear train from the spool during the cast, resulting in less casting friction. It also has a six element waterproof drag system with Teflon impregnated felt and stainless steel discs. The one piece, corrosion proof, frame houses 5 stainless steel ball bearings, 1 roller bearing, and an anodized high-tensile aluminum spool.

GREAT REEL,WE HAVE TRIED TO BREAK IT IT HAS CAUGHT MANY 50 POUND LING COD AND SEVERAL HALIBUT 100 POUND PLUS WE EVEN HAD IT SPOOLED WITH 80 POUND POWER PRO!!!!

I own a Grandwave-20Z that has caught me White Seabass up to 32 lbs with 20 lb line. Reel Casts like a dream. Awesome drag system. Water Resistent Frame. Instant-Anti Reverse
Winch man handle rules after modification!
Con's
Not enough factory oil in bearings and on the speed spool shaft. Quick Drops of light oil fixes the problem.
Stock Yoke Springs weak. Trim down and replace with cut 6/0 Penn yoke springs.
Handle is undesirable for some. Good news is old SL SH handles fits with nutcap and screw.
