The Facts: The Daiwa Saltiga's frame is machined from solid aircraft grade bar stock aluminum and hard anodized to prevent corrosion. The grease impregnated drag system and oversized machine-cut alloy gears are made to withstand the pressure of braided line fishing.

Best Reel One Can Own, 2005-03-07
Reviewer: Sheki Chun
PROS: Strength...all parts are either stainless steel or air-craft quality machined aluminum...NO PLASTIC PARTS like "competitors". Even the clamp is machined aluminum. Power and torque is superior. Drag is silky smooth and consisent at all times. The models 15, 20, and 30 obtained maximum drag pressure of 22 pounds. 30T, 40 and 50 maxed out at ~26 pounds. Handle is comfortable. Retrieve is silky smooth even under heavy drag/load. Internal construction sets these reels apart from others...all machine-cut NOT stamped, simple, less moving parts and NO PLASTIC. Castibility is above average (not as good as the Sealine series). Fit and finish is second to none.
CONS: High price tags. Clamp hardware is bulky and poorly designed (SA30T only). No clamps available for SA 15, 20.
NOTE: Best reel I have fished, you get what you pay for...if you have the cash, pick one up, you will not be disapointed.
