I have to say without hestiation this is one of the best performing baitacast reels I have ever owned! I have owned many styles by many manufacturers and this one outperforms them all: true-to-form free spool, quick access side plate and nearly limitless settings for all size lures come in one solidly built package. The reel is extremely, extremely smooth. I lubed mine with Quantum hot sauce on the traditional places and with a quick turn of the handle the reel will continue to turn for up to 4-5 seconds! The double-shielded bearings will allow this to be used in light, medium and light saltwater situations. This reel, spooled with Sufix or Stren launches lures and retrieves effortlessly; allowing complete sensitivity with whatever lure you are fishing. I would expect more pros will turn to this reel exclusively, as it works in so many situations and without absolutely any problems. I would rate this a "10" on a 1-10 scale. This reel will please newcomers and experienced fishermen alike!

I bought one of these reels at my local tackle shop. Needed a little tuning out of the box (quick tear down and relube took care of that) but after that it worked great. I have used it a lot in San Diego Harbour and also in some of the fresh water lakes around San Diego for LMB.
The need for tuning out of the box was the reason I dinged it down from 5 (also it could possibly freespool a little better like the currado SF)
Pros: I really like the quick access side plate that swings up and out of the way.
I also really like the fact that the reel came with a spare spool
Cons: The spare spool is not a whiffle spool like the original one.
