What a great reel, smooth consistent drag, good looks, nice sound, decent price for it's class.
Ross Evolution -- Touchdown!, 2007-09-08

I own a Ross Evolution size 0, and just purchased a 1.5 for my four weight. I live in Gunnison, Colorado and fish for trout around three times per week. Simply put, these reels ROCK. Why? Incredibly light, quality machining, lifetime warranty, and a drag system that is phenomonal. These reels are QUIET (unlike the noisy Lamson Litespeed), the drag is indexed (very nice!) and the spool release mechanism is the cleanest and best designed on the market. This large arbor reel also still has a traditional look and feel, and does not resemble an alien space craft like some other reels out there. This reel is unbeatable, in my opinion. Ross is a quality manufacturer of quality reels, and their warranty, service, and product are top notch, made in America, and of a caliber that is hard to come by in this day and age.
DRAWBACKS: Only one: The price. You get what you pay for, and if you want a top top of the line large arbor reel that is ultra light but performs flawlessly, then this is it.
